I thought it was pretty funny, he’s been wasted cap space the last 4 years and moving him would be an improvement even if it’s not a move to acquire Jones.

i cant remember a time when his values have outweighed him getting suspended at the worst times... he did it once in T.O and got the boot quick

If they're willing to give up 4 1sts to offer sheet him, I highly doubt theyre gonna offer him less term like Matthews while having high avv of 11.6m. It'd be at least 6 if not 7 imo.

never know could always throw like 7x10.2 even and thats just under the 4x 1sts and you instead pay 2 First Round Picks +1 Second Round Pick +1 Third Round Pick i think contenders would pay that for a guy like makar
still could put the avs in debatable situation they have 25m but they have landy makar saad jost and need some goalies that would leave them 15m for the rest of those guys which could get pretty tight
and we know the avs are good with getting people to sign good deals so they are probably offering less then an offersheet that would come in leaving it up to makar

That wouldn't be a Matthews contract then, which again is tough to do what dubas did lol. Just cuz teams are trying to avoid paying 4 1sts by offering him 10.2m x 7yrs, doesn't mean makar's camp would sign it. If they somehow did, avs would match that instantly and thank the team for the help. Makar's starting point is Chabots 8x8 contract, and he's tons better, so I can see him taking a slight discount from doughty/ek contract and maybe do something like 10x8. Sakic is a God tho, so maybe he will just do 6x6 hehe.
