Being a #1 on Calgary isn't the same as being #1 on a contender. He'll be a second paired d-man on the Blues roster.

He'll pay the second most minutes on St Louis guarenteed.

I didn't mean he was a number one defensemen on Calgary, I mean't he's a number one defensemen in the NHL.

points aren't everything. I've watched the majority of the Blues games this year and I would love to have either of them on my team.

Well Bouwmeester's not really putting up that many points but he does possess the rare blend of smooth skating, efficient puck movement, offensive awareness and the capability to play against top players.

Shattenkirk, Jackman and Polak don't have those packages. IMO none of these 3 guys are top pairing calibre, especially Polak, who's probably a #4 DFD at best.

Bouwmeester's a #2 TWD on good teams, #1 on bad ones.

Vancouver Canucks general manager Mike Gillis believes his National Hockey League team is doing just fine developing prospects, and will be even better after purchasing the Peoria Rivermen from the St. Louis Blues.

Before reading the article, of course he's gonna say he's good at drafting/developing. He's not going to say things that'll get him fired.

When do GMs or coaches ever admit to mistakes lol.
