He's a maybe. Wings are fully committed to getting him to 110% before bringing him back in, or he would have played tonight. I think they recognize he will be a top pair defenseman and that he shouldn't be rushed this year. I agree, if it costs us a cup to make sure he plays at full strength through his career, it's worth it.




I don't want to risk it. Even if he boosts us to a cup this year it may be at the expense of the rest of his career. Thumb injury doesn't sound bad but if it doesn't heal perfectly his shot and passing are fucked up for the rest of his career. Might cost several cup shots in the future, and his future is VERY bright.

"Costing the cup, isn't really a good option when you have a good chance. Wings need 1 win vs Hawks and Dekeyser should play now for game 7. Wings may never have a shot for a long time when datsyuk and zetty get older

I think dekeyser gives us a shot at several cups over the next 15 years. That's how highly I think of him. I don't think we would be doing right by him to put him in game 7 unless he feels 100%

As for the Datsyuk and zetty quote I call bullshit. They've been saying that for every superstar to leave the wings for the past 10 years. It's a broken record, there is still a lot of talent there.

Eh.. I'm sure it's gonna have just as big of an impact as Liddy leaving (which was substantial pretty much all year).

I'm not too worried either though, it may be a big blow but detroit has been phenomenal at racking in great talent even with late draft picks this whole time. I've no doubt they will keep rolling new stars for quite some time.
