MacEwen got outplayed by a lot of depth guys on the Canucks, even players in the AHL are ahead of him now like Lockwood. The only thing he's good at is fighting.

OEL has been solid so far, he leads the team at 56.2% CF on even strength, while making Myers much better too, he's at 52.8% lmao! Not only that, he also relieves some pressure off Hughes, so he's looking at lot closer to his rookie season than last.

He has been more physical and i haven't seen him make any mistakes yet. He's always at the right place and right time. Very good at closing the gap and keeping players to the outside.

so benning actully made a good trade :O
and honestly macewen has made some good defensive plays and while not great offensively hes made some pretty good 4th liners plays get in on the forecheck win the battle make a pass out front sorta deal

MacEwen's biggest problem was being bad defensively and his skating, it didn't really have to do with his offense. He struggles to win board battles, players smaller like Garland, Hoglander, PDG, Lockwood outmuscle him etc.

I guess he could be much better for your team, cuz there's a system while the Canucks are clueless af and trying to learn how to play hockey, but it still doesn't explain how these players did better than him while they played for the same team. Maybe he just needed a change of scenery.

His biggest asset is fighting, and he even managed to fuck that up by grabbing Schenn's visor and acted like he won the fight lol.

The trade is good for now, it's just risky as time goes by. The biggest piece was getting Garland, and locking him up to a cap friendly contract. OEL was the risk because of his long contract, but after watching him play, i think the next 5 yrs after this season won't be that bad. Maybe he will be Edler 2.0 when he's 36.

The problem right now is Green's questionable choices, like benching Garland to make an example out of the team..? Jason King trolling on the powerplay.. he finally mixed it up for next game, but Horvat and Miller are still on the same unit again. When they're the only reliable C's that can win draws on the dot.. etc.

At least the defense looks a lot better than last season, but the bar wasn't exactly that high last season lol.

Lmao meanwhile Vancouver is actually up 1%

Only way there is a possibility of green getting fired for a proven coach would be if the attendance drops 20%. The home opener game and the Philly game was so sad to watch.

it says at the top that Vancouver had only played 1 game at time of image

are we talking about the same guy? lol he doesnt seem like a bad skater hes got some speed not the fastest but not super slow and hes winning puck battles and making good defensive plays so far
hell in the 1st game for us he did a crazy diving backcheck and broke up a 2 on 1 or 2 on 0 or something like that
hes not amazing or anything but for a 4th liner i like the guy hes beating out half our depth players with some pretty solid hockey
and that schenn fight was tough how do you fight a guy with a visor that cant take the helmet off? like what do you do? pretty much what he did lol

To be fair that visor grab wasn't to win a fight.

Big Mac was holding on for dear life - I've never seen someone feed him punches the way Schenn did.
