Yeah true, low chance for low picks making the nhl anyway. Just promising when their development continue to improve a lot

You can't tell me that you would have passed on Zadina for Tkachuk if you were the GM of the Sens

I'm not going to pretend that I know better than the scouts/scout agencies though, it was just personal preference.

What do you mean rest of the world is wrong ? Plenty of people had Tkachuk over Zadina, including Bob McKenzie's list who is usually the most spot on.

Worth noting it 100% depends on what the team is looking for. The draft really is a crap shoot.
The 2 players in question are a perfect example , let’s say tkchuck has a potential of being a 5/10 quality but has a 95% chance of reaching that potential. Zadina might have a 6.5/10 potential but a 60% chance of reaching it. Ottawa values the certainty more than the potential , doesn’t make them wrong , just difersnt priority ( this is just making up numbers for argument sake not saying that’s what the players are)

Yeah that's a fair point as well. Altough I think with a high pick like that you need to go for the homerun. I just think Tkachuk has what it take to be a special player as well. Some people are selling him short imo.
