Got first speeding ticket in like five years. Got caught in a 50kmph speed trap going 74 in the Cayman. But the cop reduced it to 65 in a 50. Which is like $55 and no points. Tempted to fight it anyway but lol I think I got off lucky I thought I was going over 80 when he turned on the sirens.

if you contest and lose, you have court costs to pay so more $$

Easily add $100 to that if you got caught in Alberta.

$55 for a speeding ticket? Where do you live...

I got a photo radar going 115 in a 100 zone and it was like $175.

It's pretty criminal. And now you'll get photo radar tickets in Calgary for 34 in a 30. It's literally the worst part of our province and makes me want to move. No pst, but goddamn.

Pretty sure it would cost you more just to contest it,
thats the new trend in the police departement.. Give ticket with no points and small amount of money for the simple reason to fill the bank cuz they know people won't waste their time with that

Yeah they have the option of raising it back it what he clocked me at. I'm tempted to fight it, but I didn't say I would. If it was points I would for sure however.

For reference it's Ontario. And the ticket is actually only $33 but with admin fees it's 55. For the most part you can seem to go between 15-25% over and they won't pull you over. I once followed two car lengths back of an OPP cruiser for like 150KM at 130 on the 401 lol.

Photo radar tickets are the easiest to contest and almost always get thrown out. At least in merica that is. My aunts a cop and says you actually don't even have to pay the fine for those cus they can be extremely inaccurate
