cbj were crap  all 5 years he played there and he won the calder trophy hes obvioulsy got potential and in philly he looked like  he was showing it
im not assuming hes our #1 down the road  hes only got a 1 year contract but as of right now hes the only nhl goalie we have ...whether we get somebody  thats a #1 or a back up... who the fuck knows
either way im happy to have mason #1 or backup to try and develop into a future #1  because its a lot better then having  30+ year olds and guys picked up off waivers  lol

idk how any flyers fan couldnt be happy to have mason ....

@dx  if anybody in the staff gets fired its prob lavi ... his coaching this season  was pretty questionable to say the least  i kinda feel he cost us most of those early games which if we had some wins from we mighta made the playoffs

The way the flyers should look at it, Mason cant be any worse than bryz, and he makes way less to do it too.

or loleighton
or boosh
of nittymaki
or biron

the only goalie even comparable in the last like decade to mason is cechmanek/ bryz/bob and bryz seemed to be hit or miss cechmanek idk wtf he went
bob ... well idk if he keeps it up but if he does shitty trade lol this stolarz guy better come through as atleast a backup
the bluejackets got a lot better too after the nash trade that added a lot of depth and good defensive forwards there a better team then what mason had those 5 years you cant base his success on the fact bob did so well in cbj

Bob stole countless games for them.

Mason has not. The only thing consistent about him is a 3.0 gaa

Don't like Gaunce and Schroeder too small for 3rd/4th line roles IMO. Unless they've done a lot of growing up, lol.

I'd also switch clarkson and burrows

Gaunce is built as a 3/4C... getting more and more hype as a guy who might end up being a prime 3rd line center. Having Higgins and Hansen on his wings will definitely help.

Schroeder small but it's a scoring 3rd line, chem with Raymond. Schroeder is good defensively as long as he doesn't have to handle giant/top centers... those duties go to Kesler/Henrik anyway.

IMO good mix of shooter/playmaker/powerforward with Kassian on their right. This puts Schroeder and Kassian both in a scoring role where they can develop with some average ice-time, instead of playing them on the 4th line with scrubs and letting 'em rot away like most of our offensive prospects under AV.

Had someone tell me during the Conference Finals that #NathanHorton wanted to return to FLA. Been in the back of my mind for awhile.

asks to get out, whole fanbase hates him, turns out he left because he knew he'd get good stuff form boston then returns as FA

Honestly, holy fuck no.
5 years for a 40 point guy in Clarkson for 4.5?
No thanks.
Sure, he brings some grit but I think that's a huge overpay for his services.
Raymond again? Please. He's had so many second chances. Just fuck off and go play for somebody else. Yes, he had a decent year this year but I feel like he was carried by his line more than creating for his line. Plus no more spin-o-rama so.. useless in shootouts too.

He got his ring.
I wouldn't be surprised.
Kind of surprising though considering every contender would love a big guy like Horton on their team.

clarkson had the perfect storm when he scored all the goals that year IMO, he almost completely disappeared

however, given time with an elite playmaker in sedin, i think he can thrive. but he's going to be overpriced by 1-2 millions lol

he left the team because he didnt want to play through the rebuild, according to msot fans he's a dick that doesnt care about hockey as #1 prio and didnt want to be in florida anymore

Exactly how I feel about Clarkson.
I think he'd be a great 3M guy on any team, especially a team like the Canucks looking for grit and a guy who will drive the net.

Florida, no offense, is still rebuilding. Every position is still waiting for a player to solidify the role. All the sophmores/rookies have to prove themselves again this year.
I think Horton could get a BIG payday on a true contender and then settle in Florida again (and possibly be a lot more competitive than today) after that contract.
