I doubt there will be a swap afterwards if the Preds don't match. Preds wanted B. Schenn, Couts, and something else in return for Weber unsigned. Can't see Philly giving any of them in return

Weber was a 49th overall pick.

Alexandre Daigle was a 1st overall

My bold prediction:

IF Weber ends up in Philly, the Flyers and the Preds will do a no-match trade. The first rounders will go to Nashville and traded right back to Philly in exchange for some (or one) big name(s). I don't think anybody on the roster would be untouchable.

And now, to take some of the seriousness out of it: If we use some of the logic applied earlier one could argue: 4 1st rounders for Giroux. He was a late first round pick and Philly would receive 4 1st round picks in exchange. Good deal

Weber would not be unsigned though, would he? I thought he already signed.

They wanted to trade him as an RFA

Oh, yeah.

What I meant was Preds agreeing not to match if they can trade the picks they receive for some of the players you mentioned. Any top names they can get basically. Philly would need to move players anyways.
If Philly would not agree to that, the Preds would just match it.

Yeah, I'm just saying that with how much Nashville wanted in exchange for Weber, they're going to over value the picks and I just don't see Philly agreeing to giving up any roster players

Sources say there is not a no-trade clause present anywhere in the proposed Weber contract. #FlyersTalk
