Howard will miss the next two games of the Wings four-game road trip and will be re-evaluated when the team returns to Detroit on Tuesday.
This injury comes in the middle of a career season for Howard. The Ogdensburg, New York native leads all goalies in wins and is second in shutouts. He also places in the top five in goals against and top 10 in save percentage. In the meantime, look for Ty Conklin and Joey MacDonald to split time between the pipes.

luckily 2 next games are on road and both seem easy (oilers and yotes), so howard will be back for home games. no worries
*hopefully*
Re-evaluated for home games =/= in for home games. I can trust Conklin for one home game but not for 2+. Hopefully Howard will be healed, knock on wood.
I may or may not have just knocked on 8 different types of potential "wood" in my apartment.
