Wonder what the ballpark asking price is for Laine, if it is in fact true that he is being actively shopped.

The team does have enough talent in the top 6 and right handed shooters in particular to possibly fill in the gap if he is traded.

He is a polarizing player.

Undeniable size, skill and shooting ability.

On the other side of the coin you have issues regarding lack of defensive effort/capability, lack of physicality despite his size and public arguments over ice time and linemate utilization.

Of course there is the soon to be expired contract.

Despite some of the cons I think based on age and raw talent the ask is going to be quite high. How often does a young elite sniper find himself on the trading block... Should be lots of interest.

He averaged 37 goals a season over the past 4 years. - factoring out games lost due to covid and injury. Very short list of players who can match or beat that.

He was a 21 year old kid, so what if he was lazy, he can fucking score and he won’t play fortnite forever that game sucks. But seriously he’ll mature..

Every team in the league should be interested imo.. Fuck I’d consider giving up #5+, it would be amazing if whoever we draft turns out anywhere near as skilled, he’s going into his prime years too

id take laine on the flyers easy we need a scorer and i feel our locker room can mature him up a little bit get him focused on hockey
ofc we would probably have to at least trade jvr first to even have capspace ^^

guys still young and has so much potential that i dont even think id be super pissed to see a prospect get traded unless it was farabee
but farabee or frost is probably the starting point to any deal like that

and lack of defense? no biggy we got the selke winner ^^

"Tampa traded 7th rounder to Wild to swap picks and move up one spot to take Point. Were trying to trade up all through the 3rd round and were turned down by everybody. Was told Wild liked Point and Belpedio equally, so figured, 'why not make the trade and get the extra pick?'"

haha hindsight, but ouch.

Jeff Marek just said that theres 3 Beliefs coming out of OTT.
Some people in the Org want to take a D-man and the belief is Sanderson. Some want a RW and the Belief is Jack Quinn, and a Belief that some inside want the Goalie, Askarov

Oh boy

With Byfield or Stutzle with #3, I don’t care who we take at 5 as much, I think they’ll get someone good

I think it will be Perfetti or Raymond if we take a fwd, or Sanderson if we do a D
