I am thinking 5-6 years will be what he ends up with.

Either way he is going to be walking away with 50 million +. Not bad.

I like the player but a 30 years old dman who will almost be 31 when starting his contract, i dont see him staying on that level for much longer.

Hes been consistant during his whole career but im pretty sure a team like toronto would be a really bad option for him

Winnipeg would be a good team for him and montreal could have been a good place for him to go calgary could be good also but i expect toronto to go all in on him

I think that too but with what they just did to him i wouldnt be surprised if he test fa market to get a big payday, afterall he won a cup and the management literally are trying to sign him to a team friendly deal without giving him the details on how the contract is structured

FA is likely to be flooded with an unusually high amount of starting goaltenders.

Now is as a good a chance as any.

I don't think they have the cash to compete in the FA market. If he makes it to FA he is probably gone.

The structure of the deal is being kept a secret because they don't have the money to pay him that much up front.

That is what I am speculating.
