For the yotes and lafreniere it would be nice. He would have no pressure at all on him and the yotes would get the franchise player that they need to get going (if hall dosent resign which is very likely)

I Simply.hope.my.habs dosent get lafreniere. Id rather see him in another market than montreal. It would be a total.shitshow in montreal with the medias and the fans putting expectations that make no sense on his shoulder and probably ending up shitting on him

Im pretty sure the nucks do the playoffs. They just need either more depth on the 4th line or a decent top 6 player for cheap.

Kinda sucks tho that you have the combo of myers contract, eriksson and luongo remains on your cap

Glad they held on to win that game haha.

Myers contract is not great but the defense group was so weak we were forced to go to the FA market. Myers is making too much money and the term is too long for a guy of his capability but at least he is an upgrade.

When you go to the FA market you usually overpay. At least he can jump in on offense once in awhile but he is making first pairing money despite being a guy who is an average top 4 that can not be relied upon to shut down the oppositions best.

Still I am just happy our D core is improved this year. Myers is not terrible, he is just overpaid, like a lot of older Canucks. Loui contract was a joke from the start and have no clue how anyone could be that stupid... I cant even hate the player. How can you not take that deal? He plays a good 200 ft game but he is paid 6x too much.

The Luongo contract may haunt us when Petey and Hughes need to be resigned. What annoys me is other teams that have similar trash contracts will avoid the salary cap penalty with LTIR loopholes. Luongo was healthy and retired on his own terms - that is not often the case.

Ferland was supposed to be that top 6 player - or at least a top 9 who could provide some offense. Has not panned out at all due to injury. Hell they even wanted to give him a shot on the first line with Petey at one point.

Yeah for your d you needed the upgrade. I would have prefered a trade for a dman instead of miller but miller is doing much better than i expected

For the cap yeah it sucks atm but loui got 3 years left i think and luongo like 2

I also think that domi could be a great fit for your team.by reuniting.him.with his junior lineman horvat

Just imagine if weber retires before his contract is over. Nashville will be fucked real deep. And there is rumors that his recent injuries have taken a huge toll on him and that he might have 2 years at best left

That is the contract I was thinking off the most.

How can he be expected to keep playing until 40+ years of age when he plays a very rugged style accompanied by lots of ice time...

The thing is the team that acquires the contract suffers very marginally compared to the team that signed him originally.

I googled the Shea Weber recapture penalty and it is soul crushing.... Nashville could be ruined for years because of that deal. Montreal won't want to take his cap hit in those later years either, so I think we will see a circumvention attempt.
