Hop on the wagon ;)
Can watch the Bruins go down 0-2 early against Toronto then come back & beat em in 7

If its between boston and toronto in definitely cheering for boston, but i cant justify hopping on the bruins wagon through the whole playoffs 😂 cuz fuck them too.

It’s the NHL anything can happen in the league with this much parity.
I think the 24 team format doesn’t give enough merit to the regular season.
In my opinion the ideal solution if you want to handle the uncertainty of how the remainder of the season would have played out is top 12 locked in, remaining 8 teams play 3 game series for the final 4 spots.

I don’t think it’s too much of a conspiracy to say that the NHL wants to give certain big market teams like the Hawks another chance at the post season, while taking away chances for smaller Canadian market teams at the same time. Gotta make up that lost cash somehow.

Yea seems likely.
I think it could be testing the waters for future changes to playoff format.

On an oilers note its only natural that the team on the bubble of getting a bye and having to play a series for their survival feels a bit ripped off. Especially when the issue of divisions is what knocks us out. In former formats teams ( Carolina )that missed the playoffs by points got in based on finishing top 3 in a weak division.

Many players were opposed of any 3 game series due to game breaking players that can easily steal 2 games themselves i.e. price

Fair enough , but if your going to play 5 games then just even up regular season games and have shortened season with normal playoff format.

Honestly I don't even think a first round by under a 5 game format is much of a benefit.

The teams sitting idle will play a team that had the opportunity to get their legs behind them.

I would imagine a lot of teams in the by week are going to fall flat in their first game when they play teams who are starting to get back into the flow of things.
