I said from the start this had no chance of happening....

If rumors are true I will admit I was wrong.

Never underestimate the greed and determination of billionaires.

Still can't believe this looks like it will happen by the end of the month.

You wouldn't be this worried if the Oilers were a good team :p

i always felt like they were going to prep a scenario and if a vaccine comes out push it into action

but it seems even without a vaccine they are trying to push it into action

tbh i wouldnt say just "billionaires" the player association is also working to restart the season with them
do i feel its the right thing to do? hell no at least not yet but i would watch either way :D

im just worried we have already seen a few players get it what happens i somebody gets it spreads it to an entire team or half a team
do they get disqualified? like what happens then? do they call up ahl players are they willing to play?they dont get paid millions

on top of all that its going to likely be scuffed hockey the hockey at the start of the season fresh out of camp is usually a lot worse then hockey at the end of the season
this is going to be like hockey with no camp or super short one and limited training?... idk man

and lets be real this play in series shit is a joke format

I agree.

The format is a joke. If anything the top teams that do not have to play in the 5 game opening round are at a disadvantage. I would rather play to get my legs under me.

Would not be surprised if in the 2nd round all of the lower tier teams won their first game (if not the series) because they had a bit of game experience and a chance to get in game shape.

i guess it wont be a 'bye' as it will be more of a free entry. Cuz from what i understand during the best of 5 play in round, the 'bye' teams will be playing round robin to determine seeding, i guess.

Is it just me or wouldn't the teams with the byes have the most important disadvantage? After not playing for months they'd have to face a team coming off of a series win, while the bye teams are doing practice at most

Honestly, we probably have the blues to blame for the 24 team format.
If they dont make that historic run from dead last to cup winner after the xmas break then the NHL probably doesnt feel like they have to include the teams that are relatively close.
The reason they have to expand it by an extra 8 teams is because teams could go on a run and end up in a playoff spot should the season continue instead of jumping straight to the playoffs. It really is the fairest way to do it without resuming the regular season.

All I know is that if Montreal ends up winning the cup with a regular season losing record, ima afk for life

Also based on a lot of peoples posts in this thread, I feel like I'm the only one that wants this to happen  (not a canceled season)

Personally i dont care, sure id like the watch the wings a couple more times, but it doesnt really matter since we're locked into dead last. So for me i could care less as long i get to watch hockey again soon.
