I think its way better to solve this contract issue for the leafs as fast as they can to avoid a potential similar situation to the nylander case last year. Would look pretty bad if in 2 years you had 2 key player not starting the season due to contract issues

That’s Dubas’ fault, now hes that guy who caves if you hold out long enough. Marner’s just going to do exactly what Nylander did, because it worked.

not really a rumour but there was a lot of talk about ghost getting traded and what not nothing ever came of it
but once provy is signed we have like 8 d men that should be in the nhl i assume we trade somebody

i feel like this holdout with the RFAs is going to have a huge ripple effect like maybe there is a trade lined up but flyers are just waiting until provorov is under contract to make sure

its been assumed by many morin+myers were expected to make the jump to full time this season
sanheim last season was pretty impressive and looked like he could be a top 4 for us making ghost potentially expendable and AV said he likes to role 4F1D pp so provy/sanheim/niskanen could probably fill that role if ghost was gone

Marner will definitely command a higher aav than both of those players.

Yeah, Tampa has Stamkos and Kucherov to fall back on when it comes to negotiations, but he might not care and ask for most

I think he’ll get around 9 on shorter term. For the leafs shorter term is harder due to the 2 other rfa already on shorter term. Also the tax advantage of Tampa makes taking less more of an possibility, it’s why stamkos and kuch took less.
