ye but maybe he prefers the lifestyle of NYC than miami, getting that extra 600k lessens the blow too
tallon also helped canucks by pressuring him to retire this year than next for even worse penalty
too bad benning wasn't clever enough to see if he could get anything from NYR by buying out spooner to give NYR the extra 600k that they needed to sign panarin

i think you're totally missing the point.
Tallon could have had both players, panarin and bobrovsky. But he got impatient and probably wanted to look sexier by announcing a dual contract signing like the suter/parise dayz. Seemed like bobrovsky was a done deal, and there were rumors that panarin wanted to play with bob as well. So Tallon should've signed panarin first, then pressured lu to retire so he could sign bob as well.

So having panarin & bobrovsky & having luongo retire > just bobrovsky & lu retire & no panarin.

they also wanted panarin, but couldnt get because rangers were gonna stay put with 11m offer til they got the extra 600k from spooner's buyout.
idk why this is so hard for you to understand lmfao
yes, florida wanted a new goalie. They could've have had bob AND panarin, not just bob. :wallbash:

"The $600,000 in cap space the Rangers cleared as a result of Vancouver’s buyout of Ryan Spooner represented the difference in the team being able to sign Panarin or not. Because without that $600,000, the Blueshirts were prepared to stick on their offer of $11M per, industry sources confirm."

all that means is they were able to offer him 600k more
it doesnt mean he woulda signed in florida if he got that extra 600k there is zero gurantees

That's true but the timing of the rumors was pretty accurate, like it was pretty much panarin to Florida + him wanting to stick with Bob. Especially with coach Q signing and flying with Bob together to meet with Tallon. Despite nyi and Columbus offering more he didn't seem interested in those teams, and then after canucks buyout happened, it started to sound less likely to Florida and rangers changed their initial offer from 11m to 11.6m & BAM done dealz. He probably preferred the NYC life over Florida though but that extra 600k just sweetened it
