I honestly wouldn't be surprised if the Jets walk away from Laine if he signs an offer sheet similar to the one Aho did.

The Jets owners are the richest family in Canada but they operate that team on a budget lol.

Rumors of Laine and the Jets not exactly always being on the same page probably helps this, too.

I think it's more of the fact that he can be a 50g scorer but chooses not to be cuz he isn't focused on hockey, rather play Fortnite than sleep etc.

lol ouch, so apparently the panther's shot themselves in the foot by pressuring luongo to retire.
They pressured him because they wanted all the cap they can to try get both panarin and bob, but the plan backfired cuz NYR traded spooner to loloilers with 900k retained, and then spooner got traded for gagner to lolnucks. The 3mil cap penalty from lu caused benning to buyout spooner to get extra 2mil capspace, which further reduced NYR's retaining to 300k. So with the extra 600k they gained, they offered it to Panarin which was the difference for him to decide to sign there instead of florida :rofl:

butterfly effect is a helluva thing

but I'm not sure how much that affected Panarin's decision. After all take home income is substantially higher in Florida than in NY as a highly paid athlete and the Miami area is cheaper to buy a gg home than in NYC.
