wouldnt mind it but im damn confident doug armstrong wont be offer sheeting marner. blues are already close to the cap and have more holes on defense than offense.

out of these two Habs and Isles I think are the only two who would realistically consider the possibility. CBJ can't offer anything less than 10.5M due to lack of picks and Blues probably don't want to fuck their cap structure.

look at the Habs' 1st rounders when they were competitive between 2008 and 2015:

Tinordi
Leblanc
Beaulieu
Galchenyuk
McCarron
Schrebak
Juulsen

the only pick actually worth something was Galchenyuk, and that was a #3 from a catastrophic season. if Marner would make them playoff threats for the next 4 years... why not?

@TheFourthPeriod on Sportsnet reports that Laine’s camp is looking at a contract around 10M. Says Habs are far in talks to trade for Laine or offer sheet him. Bergevin and Cheveldayoff are good friends so could avoid the offer sheet route but if that fails, OS could be an option.
