i know the athletic had an article about ekholm being a possible fit but there was implications with the expansion draft coming
i see savard on the tsn trade bait board and hes a right shot guy that would likely be a top 4 for us and only this season left so they wouldnt have to save or worry about exposing him

could be an expensive rental though or somebody they sign after the expansion draft and keep around
but i feel like fletcher will end up with somebody like montour he would probably be a cheaper option also ufa end of this season


i think what makes it worse was getting gust... out of all the FA you get like the shittiest guy and waste 3m of the cap space on him now you have to move ghost or gust or whoever to free up that cap
that can make a trade way harder or expensive to send one of them back if the team doesnt want them

he coulda literaly just not signed gust not lost friedman to hextall and the penguins and have a bunch of cap space to work with at the deadline and been so much better off

Weekly H2H format makes absolutely no sense to me in pools, any sport.

As for hockey specifically, PIMs as a positive stat makes zero sense, as well.

What I like about h2h format is that no one is really out of the running. Even though you're not close to 1st place you still set your line up because there's a stake every week. That and even though you finish the year 8th out of 10, you can still win the league if your players get hot at the right time. I find with roto league, after 1/4 of the season you already have half the team eliminated.

And when you think about it, it kind of reflect the NHL. What if there was no playoffs and the Stanley Cup was awarded to the President Trophy winner instead? Sure that would reflect the better team throughout the season, but it takes a lot out of the excitement of the playoffs race and the actual playoffs.
