Welp, barring a miracle, next year boys. Pack up the ship.

Mason to undergo surgery and might be deactivated for the year.

6 to 8 weeks is the normal timeline for this kind of injury which puts it's around the end of March early April

I'd rather just give him the season and heal for next year with the hopes that a few of our prospects are closer/NHL ready. No sense bringing him back to a shambled defense again.

duh hes 4th in sv% of nhl starters and going 3-0-1 with a .959 save percentage in four games before playing the Capitals
nobody can argue flyers need a starter anymore as long as we got mason ^^
and nobody can really trash talk the bob trade made mason expendable we got him for like a 3rd rd? and took the 2nd we got for bob n turned it into stolarz
that trade pretty much set us up for goalies lol

Yes you can because bob is younger and shows flashes of brilliance not too many it was a separate trade. We could have both.

bob never woulda became half the goalie he is now if he stayed in philly sure he won a vezina ... once and this year hes far from it
and there the same age both are 26 not sure why you think bob is younger o.O
and yes it was a seperate trade but if we didnt trade bob to cbj mason prob wouldnt have become expendable like he did

i look at it like this we swapped goalies and picks gave up a 3rd+bob for mason+2nd mason has been way better for us then bob ever was and stolarz was a 2nd round pick and looks promising not bad for a 3rd rounder

this is where hextalls going to screw us.. homer wasnt scared to pull the trigger it got us a bad trade in luke schenn for jvr but it brought in simmonds b schenn couts voracek mason stolarz ect ect he won a lot of trades
but contract/free agent signings i think hextall will be better homers macd contract is pretty questionable this season

You can't make a blanket statement saying bob would never work out here

not saying he wouldnt have worked out im saying he wouldnt be as good as he is in cbj he hit his peak here n his development was getting screwed becasue of bryz
he barely spoke english so reese developing him was prob hard as fuck with the language barrier

cbj did one hell of a job finishing him but they did the same job with mason and hes been equally good for us so even if bob coulda woulda shoulda worked out.. it doesnt matter becasue mason did too
