don't think this pertains to girardi, especially not right now. insurance for future, maybe. MDZ was in and out of the lineup and AV needs a right handed defenseman he can trust to play every night.

I didn't see Del Zotto play much, I just know that he was hyped pretty good in his first season, and quite the opposite from Rangers fans lately. Is he actually good? Fresh start might do it or?

He was pretty beast in 2011-2012

He still does have a lot of potential imo.

he definitely has offensive skills, but they've never really developed into providing consistent production. makes a lot of mistakes in own end which is why torts sent him to minors and AV made him a healthy scratch a lot of nights.

he's been given a lot of chances to run the power play and nothing much has ever come of that. even now with it being so effective, he hasn't been an important part.
