Puljijarvi requested a trade and has no interest in returning to Edmonton

I guess he feels like maybe they didn’t totally ruin him yet and he can escape with some hope left

He needs to play in ahl and must pass waivers to get there. NHL is not a developmental league. Last year should have been his first in North America. People forget he just turned 21, every minute of nhl hockey he’s played so far he’s been 20 or under.

We fucked him up by rushing him like usual for oilers, and then when it was obvious what needed to happen we catered to him instead of just putting him in AHL.

[Friedman] There is word today that Edler’s availability for the expansion draft — at one point a major issue — has been resolved. That’s a big reason for the optimism and sense an extension is gaining steam

[Kypreos] Weekend wish list for Canucks could include new Elder Boeser deals. Doesn’t sound like Boeser needs max term so expect 4-5 yrs in or around 7m Edler talk once again optimistic with gap closing. Nothing imminent on both but sounds like deals to be made out there

Sounds like Canucks making headway for re-signing Edler.\

He needs to work on his play away from the puck and getting used to the smaller NHL ice. Watching him last year, he looked great at times but insanely lost at others. I totally agree he needed some development in the AHL, but as you say, the Oilers do what the Oilers do

I didn’t see anything positive from him last year. He looked lost and clumsy every shift, the game was always happening to fast for him. The previous year he had long stretch of looking like he belonged when on the 3rd line with strome, those 2 seemed to always have some chemistry so ofc we had to trade

I really don’t see a way for him to get to a NHL level without spending time in Europe now that the AHL option is gone.

I feel like the same thing happened to Lazar, desperately needed time in the AHL but his contract wouldnt allow for it. Difference is Lazar spent 2-3 years eating popcorn in the press box.... Hopefully PoolParty can turn it around because he's still so young and I think with his size/shot he could still develop into something.

I feel like letting him go play a year or 2 in finish elite or wherever is the best possible option.

I don’t think we ruin 1st rounders, we have been terrible talent evaluators since late 80’s tho.
