I think a couple moves will put us in a great spot going forward. We need a 2nd line center for sure. Vinny I think would be an absolute perfect fit (but the same can be said with many teams.) It would be nice to deal Grossman or Meszaros over Coburn, but either way it would solidify our actual lineup going forward. I think the Flyers got a great mix of young players as well as experienced leaders and going forward the team should only get better. That all said though, once again it all comes down to fucking goaltending.

you dont feel good having mason ? i mean shit who have we had thats better? bryz? paid the guy 20m for a crappy season a 900k goalie coulda pulled out and 1 good season we didnt even make the playoffs
boosh? leighton? biron? nitty?bob is the only goalie even comparable to mason and he wasnt even doing that good in philly he mishandled him huge ...
mason has like 5 seasons as a #1 in cbj and hes only 25 i think ...sure not the best stats but cbj hasnt exactly been the best team but those 5 seasons should give him the consistency we havnt had in a goalie

If you watched Western Conference games before this season, or even this season, you'll know than consistency does not go with Mason.

hes got 5 years of being a #1 goalei on a losing team ... his confidence wont get shook if he loses lke every other goalei weve had in the last decade besides maybe biron
bob was the worse... lose like 2-3 games in a row guys play went to shit and then we would lose 5-6 in a row til we switched goalies.... then we wouldnt put bob in for 10 games
dont really see that happening with mason

First and foremost flyers need a new D coordinator. With that comes a restructuring of the defense. Flyers have the skill but they don't have the concept, that's going to take personnel change.

No one should feel good having mason. He was a flop with CBJ and is still unproven with the flyers. If he works out, great, but there's absolutely no reason why you should assume he's going to be the flyers' #1 going forward. That might change 2 years down the line.

Smith working on an extension with Phoenix. Early numbers are 6 years, $5.7M per

I don't understand how any flyer fans could expect Mason to be good before he plays regularly when Bob Stole his job and was an outcast in Philly

Lolphoenix if so. Do they not realize the effects of the Tippett system yet? Put smith on the block and receive more than he's worth, then inflate another goalie's stats in his place

cbj were crap all 5 years he played there and he won the calder trophy hes obvioulsy got potential and in philly he looked like he was showing it
im not assuming hes our #1 down the road hes only got a 1 year contract but as of right now hes the only nhl goalie we have ...whether we get somebody thats a #1 or a back up... who the fuck knows
either way im happy to have mason #1 or backup to try and develop into a future #1 because its a lot better then having 30+ year olds and guys picked up off waivers lol

idk how any flyers fan couldnt be happy to have mason ....

@dx if anybody in the staff gets fired its prob lavi ... his coaching this season was pretty questionable to say the least i kinda feel he cost us most of those early games which if we had some wins from we mighta made the playoffs
but i cant blame lavi too much guys like briere and harts under performing didnt help the already lacking offense
