pajaarvi doesnt deserve to be in the lineup. he makes poorly timed defensive mistakes that directly lead to opponents scoring chances and he offers little to nothing offensively. how rattie isnt in the lineup is beyond me. if its due to him not having waiver options, fuck it. i wouldnt feel bad at all if someone claims paajarvi.

way too many turnovers in the third period and OT. its ridiculous we play that loose and careless with a 2 goal lead in the third vs a desperate team.

and until that goal by berlund in the 12th? rd in the shootout, we were 0 for our last 16 with 10 shots attempted, meaning 6 of our last 16 failed attempts were due to not even getting shots off. thats pathetic.

i dont even feel good about this win. in fact, this is the most pissed off ive been following a win in a very long time.

It's all about the playoffs buddy. If we can keep ourself at the top of the pack and get hot right before the playoffs start we will be just fine.

I just don't wanna see our fan base have to endure another 1 n done in the playoffs. That was a long shootout last night tho.

finally found some of the stats ive been looking for.

- the blues have given up 10 goals this season when the opponent pulls their goalie late in regulation down by 1. 10 FUCKING TIMES. the stars and blackhawks have given up exactly zero.

- when the opposing team pulls their goalie, the blues have scored a goal into an empty net 46.7% of the time, 2nd lowest in the league. the dallas stars have scored a whopping 94.1% of the time, but the league average is around 71%.

- were about as good at defending opposing teams late in games when we have a one goal lead and their goalie is pulled as EDM, CAL, VAN, PHI, and TOR according to war on ice EN stats.

this is the most worrisome stat about this team. cant hold onto 3rd period leads. ill be happy when we have a lead late in games come postseason, but ill be sitting idly by waiting for that late goal by toews/kane/seguin/benn/kopitar/etc.

I told myself at the beginning of the third period that this game will probably go to OT.

I dont understand how we can always play worse team defense with a multi goal lead than any other scenario. Its embarrassing.
