if he didn't care, he wouldnt have mentioned anything about dubas telling him he wont be traded as long as he is the GM.
When they were negotiating, i bet Nylander's side wanted NTC or at least a limited one but ofc at a less $$$$ for adding it in.
They decided not to add it in the contract and just take his word for it and take the current OP contract.
