Sidney Crosby has the mumps.

Well no shit

Could have been a lot worse. As long as Crosby doesn't get the really bad symptoms (meningitis, intense pain in the testicles, sterility, etc.) he'll be back soon. Nobody seems to be missing much time with it besides Suter.

I know, but relatively speaking he didn't miss much time. A half dozen games for a highly infectious eradicated disease? Not bad. Could be a lot worse when you're talking infectious disease. One of my girls friends has an incurable genetic disease that causes her teeth to fall out and eventually stop growing (no adult teeth, baby teeth until her late teens). As far as incurable genetic diseases go, she got lucky. Same goes for the NHL players who got mumps. Ever got Chlamydia? As far as STDs go not a bad one to get.

Always look on the bright side.

No. You get it by sleeping with sluts in high school.

E: Hockey related I'm sure half the league has had it at some point.

Anyways, Crosby lucked out. Clearly his play was affected by something, at least it wasn't a concussion.
