Blizzard reps are offering some info on the next patch.

The plan is to add 3 new 6-piece sets and update/enhance set bonuses on existing sets.

New Barb set: Increases Whirlwind and Rend damage to resurrect the WW build.

New DH set: Increases discipline and rewards staying closer to monsters to encourage a play-style different than the glass cannon.

New Wiz set: Tremendous buff to Slow Time which will be used as a main skill (but as a damage enhancer).

The general plan for the future of the game is create more end-game items to open up more builds so everyone isn't using the exact same items like it is now. One specific area they're working on is trying to create more choices for rings so that RROG + SOJ (or Unity for solo) isn't the only way to go.

Interesting... The problem with slow time though is its a stationary bubble, so fast rifting is not doable. We shall seeeee.

Won't be a problem. The 2 set bonus reduces the cooldown for every attack you do. Plus there's a wand that reduces the cooldown 50-70%.

everything has its pros and cons.

it might be spectacular in greater rifts though. where youre fighting the same packs for sometimes a minute+. it will be fun to crunch some new numbers.

IMO these sets will easily compete with the current good sets for each character. The Wizard one also opens element choices unlike Firebird.

yeah i already theory crafted a pretty gfg gear/skill setup for that barb set. run absolutely no cdr and get huge raw dmg numbers from the extra cc/cd respectively

The new sets were revealed at BlizzCon 2014. The rest of the stuff I'm talking about comes from Blizzard posts on the official forum.

I think I'm just gonna wait til the patch and see what elements/passives will be useful with the new set.
