Their system is getting picked apart as well. Last year was all surprise rookies and stretch passes, this year nobody is having any of that. It's a perfect storm of like 5 good players slumping at the same time. Gio doesn't have his game back for whatever reason, Hamilton is getting there but taking a while, Hudler has crashed hard back to earth, and over the summer Ramo and Hiller forgot they were goalies. Johnny's his epic self, but Brodie has been MVP this year, and Bennett is going to be a monster.

TSN reporting the Flames were calling about Andersen. I wonder what kind of package we could get him for...

They've been playing a ton better for the past 3-4 weeks now. October was absolutely fucking horrendous, every player on the team except Gaudreau looked terrible. Bennet, Gio, Hamilton, Brodie (returning from injury), Monahan have all improved vastly since then. Our goaltending is still extremely weak and still seem to let the weak goals in but the team is better equipped and playing well enough to deal with it.

Dont know about them trading for Andersen, back up goalies on good teams always look really good. Then they get moved to a new team and play full-time and the 'honeymoon' seems to end quickly. Just look at the Bernier and Talbot trades recently. Martin Jones is probably the one exception to that.

That's true, but Andersen has some pretty decent numbers on a Ducks team that can't do anything this year. He's only 26, and 6'4". I don't want to overpay, but Hiller and Ramo are garbage, Ortio needs more time in the minors, and Gillies is out 5 months now with hip surgery. I'd trade Hudler + for him, throw in Granlund, etc.

Only untouchables: Gio, Brodie, Johnny, Bennett, Monahan, our 2016 1st rounder.
