Your organization is a dumpster fire with the contracts you have on the books, that’s a good enough reason to boycott games imo. However you do understand though that at best if your team was ‘tanking right’ you’d have at best about 1 in 6 odds of getting either the 1 or second pick. Why would you base your decision on something that your organization has no control at all over.
It's a combination of everything. All the bad contracts given, bad coaching, a lack of superstar talent, a general manager who publicly stated "less can be more exciting", going to be returning next year.
The team is so boring to watch whether they win or lose. They are just flat out a snooze fest to watch. There's no excitement at all. And that is heavily indicated in the past few years where that half the seats are empty in home games. A marquee talent like Dahlin or whoever would finally give Redwing fans something to be excited about at least.
Without Dahlin or Svechnikov, I will further my boycott as I haven't attended a game in 3 years, I will not contribute to the television ratings and the purchasing of Redwings merchandise. They will just be boring to watch. I already missed half the games this season because there were other things I'd rather do than watch the Redwings game.
