crosby is better than toews, but after crosby and stamkos, toews is the player i'd pick if i started a team from scratch

I'd pick like 5+ other players over Stamkos, 10+ if you exclude age as a factor.

stamkos is super young and still scores 50+ goals on a consistent basis

he doesnt quite know how to play defence

Kid has such good hands and skates you would think he would be a threatening two-way player like Datsyuk. Maybe it will come with age but if he's hungry for the puck he needs to step up that hustle in the defensive zone and take it.

He's also not so great at faceoffs. Like 46% career before this year but he's upped it to about 50.

He's still so young that he can get much better at defense and faceoffs like Crosby did, while still improving his offense a bit.


But right now, I wouldn't take him top 5, even if he scores 50.
