I'll be that guy, and before anyone jumps down my throat this is entirely personal.

I wouldn't ever want hall on my team, I've never liked him as a player personally. Not saying he is shit or anything like that but teams seems to fall apart around him

i mean, i think he was alrady on the oilers when that team was a tire fire and their 10 straight years of drafting 1OA

are the devils actually good?
are the coyotes actually good?
are the sabres actually good?

teams have to be good in order to fall apart imo

Taylor Hall had one incredible season.

Led his team in scoring by 41 points.

Besides that he has done nothing special.

Thing is that is more than Larsson has done.... So I am still going with Hall.

With Hall being 29 I still take him because just maybe he will have another season in which he actually gives a shit and gives it 100%.

Someone can take a chance on him next year. He is not going to get big money deal after laying an egg like this, even if it was at least partially due to playing on a trash team.

Reputation aside, even though it is most likely justified I would still take a chance on him with a 1 year contract. If he screws around bury him in the AHL early and he can pout and refuse to report.

On a best case scenario you get that homerun season because for whatever reason he decided to give a shit.

He backed himself into a corner and was forced to take a lowball offer.

The entire handling of the situation was botched from the start.

As soon as his attitude problems got out his value diminished.

Chirelli tried to frame it as a cultural change but the reality is he got fleeced. He tried to start high but other Gm's backed him down and Larsson is what he ended up with.

Chirelli also made it obvious the Oilers were desperate for a d-man which did not help things either.

Absolutely no clue how he kept his job for so long after that. The only thing he ever did right was sign Draisatl to his current contract.

Still baffling to this day how he stayed employed for that long lol.

Indeed and i keep hearing habs fans wanting bergy out while the guy improved over the years while chiarelli went downhill over the years. Chiarelli reached the milsbury tier of gm

Nah, but when youre one of the top superstars in the NHL, I would expect him to make a difference to the team positively. Kind of how he made the Devils better by being the mvp. Although that was short lived as expected.

He's basically a super expensive complimentary player at this point, as he proved time and time again its hard to build around him, and he loves to give up easily.

Put other superstars in those bad teams, they improve, have 1 less player to build around etc.

Player wise, definitely hall over Larsson but i wouldn't want hall anywhere near Lolnucks with his fragile mentality. Rather Larsson for lolnux, cuz Hall will be expecting 8-10m, that's basically 2-3 players the team is losing too.
