How long is klef and Russell out? You can’t expect green to replace either of them.

Russel got put on ltir.
Klef is 2-3 weeks last I heard. Green will not replace either but can take some minutes away from klef and make his workload easier. And with the top PP in the league maybe Green can get in on some.

I can't believe how many first rounders got traded away for players that are not even very good...

Sellers won for the most part; although there was a couple teams that were savvy and got good deals.

Really makes that trade for Miller at the start of the year even better.

for once Benning looks smart, got the players he wanted ahead of time instead of waiting for the rush. with so much parity in the league it's generally better to be a seller at the deadline because so many teams are still competing for the playoffs.

Got traded away from Edmonton, sounds like a win to me.

Sens looking pretty good with 3x 1st round picks for one of the deepest drafts. Time will tell

Wings seem to be losers

Definitely cant call us losers, imagine if stevie is able to find another Kucherov (58th overall in 2011) and/or Point (79th overall in 2014) using the picks we got from Edmonton.
Obviously thats a pipe dream, but certainly not out of the realm of possibility.

Unfortunately the wings dont have many pieces worth a 1st+. Unless you're moving Larkin or maybe mantha, this was about what I'd expect

Winners:

- Edmonton winners as they acquired decent depth for cheap, big winners if AA and McDavid have chemistry.

- Ottawa winners for getting a ridiculous haul for a 3rd liner having a career season in his UFA year (although "temporary winners" might be more appropriate because we all know they aren't going to sign whoever they take with those picks).

- Sharks get a 1st (3rds canceled out) for players not in their future plans; Doug Wilson is the master of the on-the-fly rebuild.

Losers:

- Tampa Bay for giving up two 1sts for two 3rd liners. The only way they justify this is if they win the Cup.

- Islanders for that ridiculous trade for Pageau, contract isn't that great either. He'd have to be a legit 2-way 2C for the majority of the contract for it to be worth it for the Isles.

- Canes definitely improved but gave up quite a few assets to salvage a season in which they don't really have a legit shot

Other:

- I think Colorado and Dallas are two teams that should have tried to add something significant to give them an edge going into the playoffs (Namestnikov a decent add for Avs but not impactful). It was probably a good idea for teams like Vancouver, Toronto, Columbus, Edmonton, etc. not to do something stupid ''cause these type of teams probably don't have a realistic shot.

Tampa going this hard all in with picks only tells that its everybodys job on the line. Cooper goes too if he cant coach that lineup to the finals.
