Said it before, will say it again..... We will never see this consistency in our lifetimes again.

700 is impressive but the consistency is what is the most impressive to me.

Young player that survived a rough season last year and managed to crack 30. Now he is on track again. He started in the NHL very early, so he will have more prime years to score.

For me I think injuries is what will keep those stats out of reach. Even most great players have had significant injuries that ruined a season at least once in their career.

Ovechkin has managed to stay healthy for 15+ years.

Pasta has a better chance than Matthews I think. Matthews has already had some bad injuries.

Pasta will need a replacement for an aging Bergeron and Marchand at some point to continue to put up those numbers though.

I think the record for most 50+ seasons is 9 and is owned by Gretzky and Bossy.

Ovechkin has 8 right now. He is on pace to reach 50 again this season to tie the record.

Maybe he can continue to be ageless and still break the record.
