If there's no specific forwards position I could see the reasoning with going McDavid + Matthews. I'd probably lean with them myself Kuch & Drai are not bad either. Probably a coin flip tbh..

If salary is important, I would keep your players, if not, I would accept that trade. Matthews is a even bigger scoring machine than Draisaitl if he can stay healthy. But like Twax said, it's a coin flip.

McDavid and Matthews both potentially more prone to health issues whereas Kucherov/Draisaitl have been pretty sturdy. Im afraid my luck, I accept the trade and 2 days later McDavid goes out for the season or something ridiculous

It all depends on injuries. Personally, seeing it is so close, I would go with the more durable players.

Kucherov and Draisatl have missed far less game in recent years compared to Mcdavid and Matthews.

matthews is the most elite goal scorer in recent years to ever play in NHL since Ovechkin.
laine comes close, but not quite there yet.
Matthews is basically scoring 1 goal per every other game on average, in just 3 years of his NHL career. He's already scored 6 goals in 6 games this season.
Draistl scored 50 goals last year, but prior to those years he hasn't even scored anywhere close to that. He has 1.5 more seasons than Matthews, and in 356 NHL games, he scored 129 goals. Not exactly a definition of an elite goal scorer, good but not elite. Matthews played 218 games so far, but already scored 117 goals. Yeah you read that right, he scored more goals even if you half the games he played.
just the fact that matthews is only 12 goals behind Drais in goal total scored in NHL, with 138 less games should be enough to notice
