This year is a real crap shoot. After the top 2, I think Bowen is the clear #3 pick but then there’s about 6 quality forwards and no real clear cut advantage to any besides a clubs personal opinion.
I wonder why Cozens drops so low in Buttons list , I hadn’t really imagined him being there at 8 but if he is he’s the clear cut choice for edmonton. Caufield won’t be around but with Yamamoto already in our system I can’t get my head around drafting another tiny forward no matter how much he scores.
My gut instinct says Detroit is taking the Russian.
Yeah, i wont be angry about them taking Podkolzin, but i would definitely prefer any of Byram, Turcotte, or Caufield before Podkolzin.
Possibly even explore a trade with Anaheim to move down 3 spots and possibly picking up St. Louis' pick from them, but only if there are 4+ players still on the board that we really like and obviously Anaheim sees somebody they really want at 6.
This is a year in which picking anywhere in the 3-10 range is a crap shoot, but should still get a stud player.
/e i mean SJ not STL
