"really needed", everyone really need a John Tavares.

What the leafs really need is a defensement. The D is horrible right now

This. No superstar in the world will help in the nhl without any stud dman or goalie.

I hear you, but the leafs have clearly been focused on offensive moves and picking up a superstar d-man was clearly more unrealistic than landing JT..
Sure everyone needs JT... but after Matthews' recent showing the talk of the town was a center. It's going to give Matthews some breathing room and weight off his shoulders to develop better imho.

Maroon.
How do the leafs plan on paying Mathews , marner and Nylander?

Im not really worried about Nylander... tbh and I'm not really sure. What's marner's expected salary?

I’d assume anywhere from 6.5 to 8.5 aav depending ofc on length of deal and how this year goes.

True say, you gotta eliminate non playoff teams from the picture though. Even though it's MTRL and players do want to play for them.

cap friendly has Matthews expected salary @ 11M+ Nylander 5M+ and Marner at 2.5M+ LOL

not sure why so low for Marner. cap space 13.5M.. but either way that didnt help me understand more.

61,69 and ?? are good numbers, I dont watch any leafs hockey but from the international play that I’ve seen marner he drives his line and his assists are as valuable as goals. I’d rank him in the patsrnsk draisytl kuznetsev monohan tier of young players.
I don’t think a lot of Nylander and I’d pay marner double what Nylander get lol

Wouldn’t say marner is on the same tier as them. He no where near as consistent

I actually prefer Marner much more over Nylander as well.

if marner is getting 61pts/69pts while being inconsistent, imagine when he becomes consistent as he enters his prime...
Nylander is too reliant imo, Marner looks like he makes plays and makes his teammates better.. but Nylander seems the opposite. He needs players like marner to help him be effective.
