Hes done what he can. After all the playoff failures, and then starting a career backup over Holtby in the playoffs this year should be the nail in the coffin. It's not like the Caps started an unproven young and upcoming backup over Holtby. They started a career backup that will NEVER amount to anything over Holtby.

Ovie is a premier sniper and has never had the team around him to perform in the playoffs. Give him Crosby's teammates and he's got a cup too.

Crosby makes anyone around him good its not the case with ovie

pretty sure he makes kuznetsov play better. As he did with Semin.

I'm not gonna make ridiculous statements, but I think Ovie's play in the playoffs should have led him past the 2nd round. Despite all the shit he gets for being a "choker", he's almost PPG in the playoffs and has his best games when the caps season is on the line. The issue is the team around him just doesnt have that same compete.

Caps still got this, just gotta get Holtby starting...

Also some of those caps teams in years past were pretty epic. Lots of ‘support’. There’s lots of luck in the playoffs, especially all of those game 7s they’ve lost. I still think he’ll get one someday.
