There are many parallels this year, yes. Flames have a legit top 6 though, and more D depth, including one of the best top 2 in the league. But a sketchier goalie situation. They shouldn’t have missed, but they did. There are a few clear reasons, but it’s not as easy to see why the Flames missed, compared to say the Oilers or Hawks who have glaring deficiencies. Oh well, Bolts and Jets missed last year too.

Many misconceptions here. Dallas has a top 10 defense in the league this season. It’s been a highlight. What they need is more consistent offensive production, and a better power play.

Was it the coach? His style of play was never meant for crunch time play was it?
