In my opinion? No. It’s not even close, McDavid by a mile.

But I see so many leaf fans (not in this forum) try to argue matthews 40 is more impressive

Id be impressed if he did it on west division, where there are 3 contenders, and the bottom feeding teams are still defensively reliable with great goaltending to steal games. Nucks, sens, Jets, oilers, have joke defense compared to those teams. North is like who outscores the most to win. How many 3+ goal games on each team was there? Tons lol

Not sure how many total games Matthews missed but if he played the full 82 He would be at 67 goals which is super impressive as well.


Still going with Mcdavid though. Matthews is not even leading his own team in points.


As others have said a weak north division has produced some very inflated stats.
