Alex Krushelnyski scored at 6:48 into the fifth overtime to finally end the longest game in the 82-year history of the American Hockey League at 1:09 a.m. capping an incredible night (and early morning) of hockey in Charlotte with a 2-1 victory.

"Alex Lyon stopped an incredible 94 of 95 shots throughout the night, the second-most in AHL history, which also included 79 consecutive stops over the final 119:56 of the game following Charlotte's tying goal 6:52 into the second period."


The Phantoms also played the bulk of the game with only five defenseman after Samuel Morin left with a lower-body injury in the first period.

nearly two games worth of shutout time in a 2-1 game

the phantoms played with 5 dmen too since morin got hurt in the 1st period
crazy they must have been so fucking tired
