Surprised nobody posted about this. Any thoughts on the goal disallowed with .3 seconds left on the clock?

https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nhl/2018/04/03/predators-panthers-goalie-interference-reversal/484503002/

NHL really needs to look into getting this fixed as the NFL is looking into the catch rule issues. There is going to be a goal/no goal moment in the playoffs that will make someone jump off a bridge at this rate.

This... ardvinssoon stick is what made him turn and lose the puck.

And that is my problem with this is it could go either way. The more I look at it I would say the stick in Luongo's glove caused him to twist, which in turn caused the puck to come loose so I probably would say that is goalie intereference but geez its so close.

I have not seen the play.

But based on this description, if luongo had the puck I. His glove and player contact caused it to come out and it was a whistle issue or if player contact pushed it in to the net in any way, no goal.

Now, I'll watch the video and see if I feel the same way.

Ok, so, doing this in stages-

I haven't seen the video in real time. I saw the gif in the use today article.
I have not heard if the issue was "the ref was going to blow the whistle and during that process it popped out".
If that is the issue (because the Gif shows luongo has it covered for a full second (right?) ) Then it is correctly no goal based on the rules.

Now if you want the rule changed, that can be addressed in the offseason
But if that is the issue on this goal, the league got it right based on current rules.

No goal by the rules, If this was called consistently thats a different question.

Looked like a pretty light poke though

Personally I think this is a pretty clear no goal call. Luongo had the puck covered and it would not have been dislodged if it wasnt for Arvidsson using his stick/skate to turn Luongo.

Here's a streamable that shows multiple angles: https://streamable.com/b1036
