He has tied Wayne Gretzky for most 30+ goal seasons to start a career and trails only Mike Gartner, who managed to go 15 straight years scoring 30 or more goals to start his career.


In this day in age with less overall scoring then decades past combined with the overall skill level of the league this is an incredible accomplishment.

I would not be surprised if this is the last time in our lives we see this happen.

Currently 4th in goals per game in the modern era.

Trails only Bure, Bossy, and Lemieux.

Without question Bossy and Lemieux played in an era that was much higher in goal scoring.

Bure began his career in a high scoring era but played many years in the so called 'dead puck' era too.

In the very least it could be argued he is the best goal scorer ever. If he can put together 2 or 3 more 30+ seasons I think he takes that title without debate.

Bure played when they removed the 2 line pass rule and feasted on cherries
