Thought this was really interesting to add another layer to the MVP conversation. Jokic only getting doubled in the low post and Tatum not being doubled frequently because his team is shooting fireballs. Surprising not to see Curry up there though.

Ya teams would be foolish to double team Tatum now. He’s become a pretty damn good passer with excellent court vision (not quite elite but definitely improved big time) couple this with the fact that the rest of his team doesn’t miss and it would be absolute coaching suicide

Every team knows Luka isn’t going to pass the ball unless he HAS to. He will hog the ball for 20 seconds of the shot clock if he has to until he can pad an assist. It’d be wise to double team a player with that selfish mentality.

I agree with the general premise that Luka is a ball dominant star. If we swapped Tatum onto the Mavericks and Luka onto the Celtics? I think Celtics win their first ring since 08 and the Mavericks finish lower

Not surprising, Luka gets doubled non stop. The Mavs lack much firepower to consistently hurt teams outside of him. He's surrounded by role players but no other go-to stars.

Mavs would 1000% be worse if you swapped Luka with Tatum.

Tatums efficiency would sink, he'd see a ton of double teams, and he'd never facilitate the same way Luka is. They'd struggle way worse offensively.

LOL we don’t need a selfish pig hogging the ball and stagnating the offense while simultaneously playing zero defense. We have the best offense of ALL time because we actually move the ball (unlike the Mavs) and all of our players in the rotation can guard 1-5 reasonably well if not elite at it.

Luka is a FAR better passer than Tatum. I think you're confusing who the ballhog is. Luka makes more passes per game, twice as many assist per game, far better pass to assist ratio, etc etc etc I can go on all day with MUH STATS
