Below is a list of the draft picks the 76ers made during the tank process....
Out of the below list --- two play for Philadelphia currently - one is a bit/role player in Korkmaz , the other is Embiid
Most of these picks never panned out to be anything even closely resembling a useful basketball player

Worst of all is 9 years later --- despite all the picks - they've never made it out of the second round of the playoffs

Quote
"The Sixers swung and missed far more than they succeeded over the eventful last four seasons. Fultz was a disaster, and so was Okafor. Simmons, while an All-Star and All-NBA defender, may be ill-suited for a max contract and second fiddle status on a contending team.

An injury to Embiid — one that plummeted his draft stock just enough for the Sixers to gamble on him at third-overall back in 2014 — is probably the only thing Process advocates can hang their hats on. Nearly every subsequent draft pick and big time transaction did not succeed or was shipped out of town for one reason or another.

While the right pieces around Embiid, like Tyrese Maxey and Matisse Thybulle, could set the Sixers up for playoff runs for years to come — and perhaps the right Morey moves to flank those three pieces in subsequent seasons may get the Sixers over the hump — the team admitting that Simmons, the No. 1 overall pick the year after the 10-72 humiliation, is a failure all but assures The Process will not be remembered as a success."

Elfrid Payton - Bust/shit
Michael Carter-Williams - Bust/shit
Joel Embiid - Injury prone flopping choke artist
Jahlil Okafor Bust/Shit
Ben Simmons - Not even sure what Philly did to break this human this badly
Markelle Fultz - Bust/Shit

Homie your dogshit franchise can't even sniff the Conference Finals much less be a "Perennial Contender" for the Chip

It still could be a success but I think they need to channel their inner Masai and make a very daring trade. Something like Harden + Maxey for Beal + ?

If they stay on course maxing Harden it is headed for disaster IMHO. They’d peak at maybe ECF or Finals but never win it all in the next few years then be stuck paying max money to a Westbrick type player

Also Embiid is closing in on 30 with a history of not being healthy or in shape

He's been considered "Healthy" this year while missing 13

They’re a championship contender, and the process as it was originally envisioned got interrupted and derailed, so I’d say yes, with the qualifier that it probably would have been more successful if they’d just let Hinkie do his thing

Do championship contenders normally get stuck in the first and second rounds over and over?

They’re a championship contender that hasn’t shown the ability to overcome their backs against the wall. Harden, Embiid, Maxey, Tobias, etc none of their main core have ever displayed that playoff grit to pull out a series win with their backs against the wall. It absolutely doesn’t help that their coach embodies that. Doc got one title with the first super team of this era but they basically cruised to the finish line. That being said there is always a fresh start when the playoffs begin

Yes, obviously they have their flaws, but the talent is there, which is what the process was all about

The Raptors had more Talent than Clevelands teams for 3-4 years and couldn't get past Lebron anyways -- and as such were not contenders.

Perceived talent, and reality , are different things
