LeBron is leading Pacers West to the 11th seed right now (would be 13th seed in the East and mathematically eliminated two weeks ago)

They could still make the playin but need to go at least 3-2 probably 4-1 to get in

@Nuggets
Suns
Warriors
@Thunder
Nuggets

I think they’ll go 2-3 and finish 11th, 3-2 might still not be enough to leapfrog the Spurs or Pelicans

To go with the theme of the season, they will beat the Warriors and Thunder and be 1 win away from making the play-in, get a 4th Q lead against the Nuggets and then choke away the lead and lose, season over.

i really dont think Lebron gives a fuck about making the playoffs, just wants the scoring title.

would not surprise me at all if they lose out, theyre terrible

How do you see next year shaking out? I can’t imagine a world where WB doesn’t opt in to his 40M to get paid

If that’s the case I see the Lakers having a ceiling of a play-in level squad (somewhere 7-10)

They trade everyone that isnt Lebron and AD. They do whatever they can to get out of the Westbrook contract.

Give up whatever it takes to trade Westbrook's contract immediately and try to build out from there, I love Westbrook but he was never going to fit next to Lebron, running it back is not the play. Let all the washed up vets walk, retain players like Monk, Reaves, maybe Stanley Johnson. Then try again at free agency

If the Cavs are willing to deal a good prospect for LeBron… from a basketball standpoint idk how you could say no. From a moneymaking perspective it’s understandable that the Lakers wouldn’t want to trade LeBron, then again if LeBron wants out I’m sure they would rather cooperate

Let’s say the Thunder are willing to absorb Westbrook, what can the Lakers even do to make it worth their effort?

What assets can the Lakers even give up to get off of Westbrooks contract?

I imagine a team like the Thunder would play hardball and ask for at least 2 first round picks (or equivalent in swaps and 2nds mixed in)

I cant see any team with a GM dumb enough or desperate enough to take on WB that is a good deal for the Lakers
