This could be the first year where the current top 3 mvp candidates aren't in the top 3 teams (east to west) in the standings. Giannis, Jokic, Embiid I think are in the running for mvp right now and their teams are 4, 6, and 5 respectively. Durant is injured and Miami, Chicago, Memphis and Phoenix are too well balanced as a team to have any considerable standouts. Maybe derozan is a top 5 candidate atm. Curry has dropped off a bit due to performance/missed games but he was the runaway favorite last year. Lebron could be considered in the running too but again, not a top 3 team (not even close lmao).

The 1st through 6th seeded teams in the East are separated by like 2 games.

There really is no clear cut favorite in the East right now which makes things interesting. The Nets are obviously the favorite if they have everyone playing and healthy but who knows.

Hoping either Derozan or Jokic win it this season. They are the 2 most worthy so far imo.
