Exactly 1 year ago from yesterday, the 76ers drafted 20 year old Tyrese Maxey 21st overall out of Kentucky. This was Morey's first draft pick since joining the 76ers, and to say he nailed it would be an understatement.

Through 16 games this season, Maxey is averaging 18/4/4 on 52.3% FG and 43.4% 3PT. His True Shooting percentage is 61%.

Over his last 5 games he has averaged 25 PPG on 58/52/88 🔥

22 PTS, 60% FG, 67% 3PT
16 PTS, 50% FG, 50% 3PT
24 PTS, 67% FG, 75% 3PT
33 PTS, 63% FG, 33% 3PT
31 PTS, 50% FG, 44% 3PT

Last night, on the road, without Embiid, Simmons, Thybulle or Danny Green, the Sixers stomped the Denver Nuggets led by Maxey and Seth Curry.

What a time to be alive. We went from "wow this kid is really good and has a bright future, it's fun to watch him play" to "okay, this kid could be a legit All-Star as early as next season"

Love Maxey and he's already made big strides from year 1 to year 2. Arrow is only pointing up on him

Didn't say this year? Said he could be a legit All-Star as soon as next year if he continues to improve at this pace.

He's really, really good. Better than I thought he'd be right now honestly, even i couldn't homer him up to these expectations this fast rofl.

Still won't sniff an Allstar appearance next year lmao. I'm not taking anything away from him, he's definitely been a bright spot for yall.

The only thing he has going for him is playing in the East where the guard competition isn't as tough as the West (for ASG).

I mean, how do we know? He has the potential to be an All-Star, that's for sure. A lot sooner than we expected.

How soon? who knows. But when Embiid returns he should be establishing himself as the #2 go-to scorer on the team even when healthy. His ability to create his own bucket is KEY for this team.

Not to mention his defensive improvements have been crazy, he's actually a pretty good defender now too.

Tyrese Maxey PER this season is 18.4

For comparison, Ben Simmons’ PER was 18.3 last season.
