Rachel Nichols' leaked 'diversity' comments about Maria Taylor causes uproar at ESPN


A bombshell report from the New York Times on Sunday revealed there is allegedly heavy internal strife at ESPN stemming comments about diversity that NBA sideline reporter and "The Jump" host Rachel Nichols made about her colleague Maria Taylor, an NBA and NFL reporter and the host of "NBA Countdown."

According to the New York Times, Nichols made these comments in July 2020 after ESPN told her that Taylor, who is Black, would be hosting coverage of the NBA Finals instead of her. Nichols sought advice from LeBron James' longtime advisor Adam Mendelsohn on a call that was reportedly accidentally recorded because Nichols hadn't turned her video camera off.

During the call, Nichols can be heard saying that she feels like Taylor is only being promoted over her due to ESPN's long and terrible record on diversity.

Rachel Nichols made these comments a year ago and now they are surfacing just in time for the finals. This is because one random chick emailed Taylor this conversation because WHY THE FUCK NOT STIR THINGS UP and now Rachel Nichols is a racist af super duper racism.

No. You are fucking idiots. Rachel Nichols hasnt evenb looked at a white dick since getting changed as a baby. She is the biggest Night Rider of all time there is no way she hates black dudes/black chicks.

There's nothing wrong with speculating that this is the reason someone else got the job, as it's a real thing. It's simple enough, the candidate with the best qualifications and who scores the highest on the interview should get the job, end of story. Minorities got fucked forever on this, and they constantly lost out when when interviewing against whites who had less experience/education than them. Being overly worried about correctness, we're currently overcorrecting in an effort to make things equal, which is a moronic thing to do.

Real story, right out of school I was applying for jobs and I applied for an Office Assistant gig to get my foot in the door at an agency I wanted to work. Made it to the final round and lost out to a minority woman. I had no qualms with that, but later hearing from a friend who worked in HR, I found out that she scored 15 points lower than me on the interview, and had FAR less experience than me. This shit does happen in today's society, so nothing wrong with thinking it might be a factor, because it very well could be.

Lost the finals for stating the obvious.

ESPN is ALL about diversity. Fuck qualification.

What she did is nothing compared to what Stephen A. and Jalen Rose say about white people daily.

And if Taylor actually asked for 9m to ask a coach

Office assistant is a female job. They actively look for females over males. Same with receptionist.
