Agreed.
The Warriors were the best defensive team in the league when they wanted to be. KD was an elite defender on those teams. Not to mention Draymond (DPOY), Klay (criminally underrated, players will attest to this), and Iguodala.
Overall I'd say they're not as good as either the Warriors or the Heat. But those teams won multiple titles each. Nets in their first year. Opinions might change as results come in.
I am legitimately concerned for the Nets. Not that I'm rooting for them or anything. But I think they will struggle against the Sixers. Embiid is going to absolutely shit on their bigs. If any of their big three have an off shooting night (Harden notorious for disappearing in the playoffs) then they could find themselves in a situation similar to the Heat against the Pacers/Celtics. But they won't have LeBron to bail them out. KD can. But there will be two massive egos who are natural ball handlers that have to dish it to him. Recipe for disaster in my opinion.
Simmons assigned to defend whoever has the ball? Might be a good strategy.
It's not just Har_en on that team that has a track record if disappearing in the playoffs.
It's also KD(blew a 3-1 lead in the WCF only to become the biggest front runner in NBA history by joining GSW.) and Irving(Who leads his team to lotto without someone to carry him)
Blake Griffin whos softer then soft.
Then Aldridge who you'll never know what you'll get from him in the playoffs.
Nets have a lot of talent and that alone carries them past a lot of teams. But once you play the better teams and find yourself challenged in a series. Are the Nets "Superstars" going to show out? Or think about Cancun.
