this year there were 3 overwhelming favorites to win the NBA Finals, the Bucks and Clippers have been eliminated and only the Lakers remain of the big 3

AD has been outperforming LeBron so far in this series and his role players have been stepping up big time (Howard, Rondo, KCP) so it can't be argued that he doesn't have help

how bad does it look on LeBron's resume if he collapses to the Nuggets or loses to the Celtics/Heat in the Finals?

To be honest anyone with half a brain knew prior to the season resuming that the lakers easily had this championship in the bag. There's 0 chance the lakers lose barring a injury to davis/lebron.

Not huge tbh

This will just be seen as the beginning of the end, or if he recovers next year, a one-time thing because of the bubble

Lebron's legacy is set in stone, nothing is gonna change it at this point in his career.

LeBron James is 3-6 in the NBA Finals. Chris Bosh (tip out rebound) and Ray Allen's corner three to force overtime bailed him out from losing another one against the Spurs after LeBron bricked the game-tying three in the final few seconds. To be 4-6 would look a whole lot better than 3-7! Surely the Lakers have to win the NBA Title this year. Losing to a lesser Miami Heat or Celtics team wouldn't look good. I'll never rank LeBron ahead of Kobe or Jordan, but obviously if you want to tell me he's the third GOAT ahead of some other all-time legends I don't have a problem with that.

so if the Lakers lost to the Heat, LeBron wouldn't be criticized?

That's not what I said and yes he would be criticized but losing in the finals isn't anything new to him even as the favorite thanks to Dirk. As far as I'm concerned, he locked in the #2 spot all time behind MJ and nothing that happens in LA was ever gonna change that.

LeBron has a running mate with a legit MVP resume, I think it would be very bad for his legacy if he collapsed to Denver or lost in the Finals this year

My boy malady at it again. Baiting people with over-generalizations motivated by his saltiness for the Bucks (Giannis) choking.

I especially love the line about his role players performing for once
